John Deere 1-Series vs. Kioti CS10, CS20 & CS30 Series

This guide compares 2026 model year and 2027 model year John Deere tractors to 2026 model year Kioti tractors. The 1023E and 1025R are 2026 model year tractors and are no longer factory orderable.
CS10 Series models are CS2210 and SC2510. CS20 Series models are CS2220H and SC2520H. CS30 models are CS2230H and CS2530H.
| John Deere Models | Comparable Kioti Model(s) |
| 1023E (21.5 hp) 1E 23 (21.5) | CS2210H (21 hp) CS2220H (21 hp) |
| 1025R (23.9 hp) 1M 25 (23.9 hp) | CS2510H (24.5 hp) CS2520H (24.5 hp) |

We’ve outlined three ways to compare these machines.

Transmissions
All of these tractors use a hydrostatic transmission, so they operate more like a car with pedals rather than a manual car with a gearshift.
3-pt Lift Capacity:
This specification tells you how much weight your tractor can safely lift with a 3-pt hitch.
Kioti CS2210H, CS2220H, and CS2230H, CS2510H, CS2520H, CS2530H: 700 lbs
John Deere 1023E and 1025R, 1E 23 and 1M 25: 758.4 lbs 24-in behind link arms
1R 25: 915 lbs 24-in behind link arms
Width:
CS2220H, CS2520H: 45.90 in
CS2210H, CS2510H: 46.7 in
1023E & 1025R, 1E 23, 1M 25, 1R 25: 47.22 in
CS2230H, CS2520H: 48.80
PTO Horsepower
This is the power your tractor delivers to implements that use a PTO, like brush hogs, post hole diggers and tillers. Without enough PTO horsepower, implements may stall and performance may be inconsistent. More PTO horsepower is better.
1023E: 14.9 hp
1E 23: 16.2 hp
CS2210H & CS2220H: 16.3 hp
CS2230H: 16.7 hp
1025R: 17.2 hp
CS2510H, CS2520H: 18.5 hp
CS2530H: 19.3 hp
Weight
Weight can have a big impact on how a tractor handles lifting heavy loads. It may seem counterintuitive, but more weight is generally a good thing if you’re planning to do loader work.
1023E: 1433 lb
1E 23: 1446 lb
CS2210H, CS2510H: 1485 lb
CS2220H, CS2520H: 1554 lb
1M 25: 1556 lb
1025R: 1557 lb
CS2230H, CS2530H: 1735 lb
1R 25: 1872 lbs
Turning Radius
The turning radius of a tractor makes a big difference if you’re maneuvering around trees, barn stalls, or other tight spaces. For this specification, a smaller number is better!
1E 23, 1M 25: 7.61 ft with brakes; 8.2 ft without brakes
CS2210, CS2220, CS2510H, CS2520H: 8.2 ft
1R 25: 8.2 ft
CS2230H, CS2520H: not published
Cabs: The 1M 25 and 1R 25 and CS2530H have climate-controlled cab options that will add around $10,000 to the cost of the tractor. Only the CS2530H cab is compatible with a backhoe.
Backhoes: if you’re looking to dig and trench with your tractor, you’ll need to consider any of the Deere models (1E 23, 1M 25 or 1R 25) or CS2230H or CS2530H. Your least expensive option would be the 1E 23 with backhoe.
Loaders: In this size of tractor, the John Deere 120R loader will be installed on the tractor, and it features both quick removal of the entire loader frame and quick removal of just the bucket. When you need to maneuver in tight spaces, that Quik-Park mounting system is second to none.
Loader Lift Height: this is how high the tractor’s loader can lift a load. It’s important if you plan to dump dirt or mulch over a fence into a garden bed or something similar
Kioti SL2410 for CS2210H, CS2510H: 70.9 inches
Kioti SL2530 for CS2530H: 70.9 inches
John Deere 120R Loader for all 1 Series: 72 inches
Kioti SL2420 for CS2520H, CS2220H: 73.7 inches
Loader Lift Capacity: This is how much the loader can lift. Rocks, paving stones, and wet dirt can get heavy in a hurry – more lift capacity is better.
Kioti SL2410 for CS2210H, CS2510H: 683.4 lbs to full height
John Deere 120R Loader for 1023E, 1E 23, 1025R, 1M 25: 704 lbs at full height measured at pivot
John Deere 120R Loader for 1R 25: 803 lbs at full height measured at pivot
Kioti SL2530 Non-Self Levelling for CS2530H for CS30 Series: 870.8 lbs to full height
Kioti SL2420 for CS2520H, CS2220H: 1062.3 lbs to full height
Beyond the Specs
One thing to consider that won’t be in a product brochure or operator’s manual is the support you’ll get after the sale. Tractors work hard, and sometimes they need work themselves – whether it’s annual maintenance or repairs. When you buy from a reputable dealer with a trained staff of technicians and a stocked parts counter, you’ll know you have the help you need to get back to work quickly.
TriGreen is proud to offer customers more than just a great experience finding the perfect tractor, but a full-service dealership to handle whatever might come your way.
