
Purpose
Kickstart your career in the parts department by engaging in hands-on, on-the-job training alongside experienced Parts Salespeople. Through daily support and real-world experience, you’ll build essential skills in inventory management, customer service, and dealership operations—laying the foundation for a future role in parts sales.
While working, complete the John Deere University Core Certification, gaining in-depth knowledge of John Deere systems, parts processes, and dealership standards.
Upon graduation, you’ll be prepared to step confidently into a Parts Salesperson role, certified in:

Responsibilities
Assist experienced Parts Salespeople with daily tasks to gain hands-on experience in parts operations
Learn and support over-the-counter sales by helping customers identify and purchase the correct parts
Participate in warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, organizing, and tracking inventory
Use John Deere’s Parts ADVISOR™ system to locate parts, check availability, and support service needs
Complete John Deere University Core Certification while actively working in the dealership
Maintain accurate records of all on-the-job training and learning activities
Develop strong product knowledge across John Deere’s equipment lines
Communicate effectively with service technicians to ensure timely and accurate parts delivery
Support order processing, returns, and warranty claims under supervision
Uphold dealership standards for customer service, safety, and professionalism
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge
Experience working cooperatively in a team environment
Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing
Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
Valid driver’s license required
