Short for “dynamometer”, a device used to measure the power output of an engine. You may hear someone say “This tractor has been dynoed,”. This is most often referring to the use of a dynamometer to measure the output of a tractor’s engine as a reference when “tuning” it to a specific horsepower. A tractor that has been dynoed offers proof of its advertised horsepower.
