Sales Manager - Fayetteville, TN

Primary Objective:

Manages sales operations within the dealership to maximize return on investment through; optimizing sales department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, growing profitable new and used complete good sales, exercising disciplined expense control, attracting and retaining outstanding talent and effectively engaging department personnel. To provide leadership in motivating, managing and evaluating the sales force. Development and implementation of the marketing plan. To provide thorough market coverage of the customer base through a customer relationship process that will achieve and maintain lasting brand and dealership loyalty. Is responsible for the achievement of marketing objectives, the profitable, efficient and safe operation of the sales department and the effective management of all marketing assets to meet the business plan.

Major Functions and Scope:

  • Promotes TriGreen Equipment in a professional manner through personal appearance and  dress according to the company policy.
  • Develops and maintains effective Sales department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Implements annual Sales Department goals and budgets in alignment with the organization’s financial and operational objectives.
  • Leads implementation of a comprehensive, annual marketing plan which identifies the market coverage strategy, sales and market share goals, advertising plan and a complete product promotion plan to include displays, demonstrations, customer clinics, etc…Reviews progress monthly to ensure achievement of departmental goals while realizing a minimum of 60% market share.
  • Develops and updates a competitive and flexible pricing strategy relative to market conditions to achieve the budgeted sales, market share and financial objectives.
  • Takes the lead in sharing best practices and implementing common process throughout the Sales Department.
  • Oversees the management of new and used inventory
  • Assists with the collection of defaulted accounts resulting from whole goods sales
  • Develops and manages a systematic and fully functional customer relationship process regulating the sales force interaction with the entire customer base, that includes; the interaction with the customer base, customer profiling and classification, call scheduling and target marketing to realize after the sale and a minimum of 80% Customer Allegiance.
  • Maintains an effective inventory control system that achieves a minimum of total complete goods inventory turnover of 4.2X and used equipment turnover of 4.0X.
  • Maintains sales department equipment including vehicles and sales office equipment.
  • Ensures appropriate communication with customers, other departments and the sales staff through regular meetings, customer visits, written communications, facilitation of problem solving and potential conflicts, etc.
  • Ensures appropriate training is provided and timely scheduled, including product training, selling techniques, customer relationships, retail financing, systems training, safety training, etc
  • Supports aftermarket goals and strategies
  • Coordinates and resolves interdepartmental issues.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled departmental meetings
  • Assists supervisor with any other assigned duties

 

Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years sales management experience.
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and Internet
  • Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and within a group.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Sales Department operations.
  • Post Secondary degree preferred in Business Management or Marketing.
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
  • Must have analytical, business planning, problem solving, communication, motivational and  good interpersonal people skills.
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
  • Good interpersonal skills required.
  • This position will be responsible for all sales personnel.
  • Physical environment-ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; tasks may include lifting,     bending, squatting, standing for prolonged periods and sitting.
